About Lori Lipis
Lori Lipis has yearned to be a midwife since her teenage years, but work and family took her in other directions. Her career actually began as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Later, Lori moved to professional swim coaching, special education, eco-friendly home building, and finally to management and entrepreneurship. However, the midwifery bug never completely went away. So, now that Lori has three grown children she can pursue what she believes is her true calling. To that end she recently completed most Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) courses at the Midwife Training Center in Austin. Lori is eager to apply this newfound knowledge to clinical practice. Because she experienced traditional hospital birth, birth center birth, and homebirth, she also has a unique perspective on midwifery care. This will be Lori's seventh career change and she's excited about apprenticing with a sisterhood of supportive midwives. To her this vocation is about helping others to become strong, competent, capable parents. In other words, parents who trust themselves and know their inner strengths.
